Rock My What?!

Every year the company I work for does a competition if you will, called: Rock Your Body.
Said competition started yesterday.
This consists of teams and individuals gorging themselves (guilty) and drinking ridiculous amounts of water in order to tip the scale.
Normally we want to scale to read lower!
Not yesterday.
The teams are made up of 6 people. I am on a team of 5 men. Therefore, our chances of winning are pretty good. If our team wins, we all get some type of American Express Gift Card. That is nothing to shake a stick at, especially with a wedding coming up. (4 months from today)
If you win on an individual level, you get 1 year of free health care.
The reason I write about this is because the weigh in yesterday hit me pretty hard. Even though I knew the scale was weighing heavy, it still made me feel horrible.
"That can't be right!" "Do I look like I weigh that much?!"
It's depressing.
I already have my wedding dress. I was realistic when I ordered it. I was not going to be one of those brides that bought their dress 2 sizes too small and then starves themselves to get into it.
When I tried it on, it fit like a glove. No alterations needed except hemming it.
I want to feel beautiful on my wedding day. I want to look at pictures and smile. I want to take Ryan's breath away.
So, with this "competition" I want to lose at least 2o pounds.
Hopefully my dress will still fit.
PS...I am doing this as a lifestyle change. Not just for my wedding or Rock your Body.

Wedding Stuff...Etc.

This is the cake topper we're using for our cake. I've had it since I was in high school.
My bouquet will be pale pink like Minnie's.

Things continue to go well on the wedding planning front.
I feel like things are just falling into place. Everything has worked out so well that it just reaffirms to me that Ryan is the one and that we are supposed to be together. I thank God every day that He sent me Ryan.

Haven't Written in a While

Things are going well.
Wedding date is set for July 16th.
Colors are black and white with accents of pale pink and a reddish burgundy.
The "theme" if you will, is polka dots.
Ivie's dress is white with black polka dots and a red flower on the sash. When I saw it, I decided, "That's it!" and ran with the idea.
I'm seeing polka dots everywhere!
If you see polka dots, PLEASE let me know.
Thanks!

Our Engagement Story

OK…so I’m finally getting to the “details.”

First of all, thank you all so much for your congratulations and happiness for me. I have the greatest friends!

I flew into Denver 2/11. I landed and found Ryan without any problems. (Except a mishap in the bathroom, but that’s another story).
He was waiting for me with a single red rose and when I reached him, he hugged me so tight I thought I was going to pop. (Not that I minded one bit).
We drove back to his apartment and when we got there, we just sat down and relaxed for a few hours. We watched TV, talked a little bit and just enjoyed being together.
A couple of hours later Ryan said he’d be right back and went into his bedroom. I heard him rustling around, but didn’t think anything of it.
More time went by and he suggested we go back into his bedroom. (Still didn’t think anything of it). When we walked back there, I saw rose petals on the bed, roses on the pillows and candles lit around his room.
I said, “Oh babe!” I thought he did it because it was my first night there and he is romantic, so I still didn’t think anything of it.
We were sitting next to each other on the bed and he was hugging me and I noticed he was sweating a little bit and shaking. (Still didn’t think anything of it). I said, “Are you OK, you’re shaking.” He just casually said, “I am? Yeah, I’m fine.”
The next thing I know, he gets up, grabs something off his dresser and gets down on one knee.
He said, “Megan, will you marry me?”
I threw my hands over my face and said, “YES!”
Then he slipped the ring on my finger and I grabbed him, hugged him tight and let the tears roll!
Then we just lay back on the bed and held each other.
A little while later I went into the bathroom and peeked at the ring. (It was dark in his room, so I didn’t get a look at it). I was pleasantly surprised. It was/is PERFECT.
It was the most amazing night of my life. (Save Ivie’s birth).
Ryan is such an amazing man, person, father……….everything. I cannot wait to be his WIFE!
PS…We don’t have a date set yet. But we’ll keep you posted!
